    • An improved lever arm (28) for a tilt tray sortation conveyor (10) has formula defined unlatching (36) and tipping cam sections (37). The tipping cam section (37) imparts a constant angular acceleration of about 20 radian/sec.² to the tray (14) during positive tipping. Such angular acceleration produces a maximum tangential acceleration for any article on the tray, approximately equal to or less than the acceleration of a free-falling body. An improved tray latch or index plate (27) has an inclined cam (77, 78) resisting rebound of the tray after initial tipping. Integral shock absorbers (62) disperse impact forces in tray tip-up apparatus and resist elongation of tip-up mounting pin holes. Methods are claimed.

    • Standard platforms are integrated into a mason's scaffold 1 to reduce manufacturing and assembly costs, the standard platforms 25 having hooks 29 on both ends. The hooks 29 are supported on lower horizontal members of respective rectangular frames 7. Platform fasteners 35 are secured to each lower horizontal member with the standard platform hooks 29 therebetween, thereby retaining the standard platforms 25 to the frames 7 to form a working deck. Each platform fastener 35 comprises a metal sheet 37 to which is welded an L-shaped bar 43 that engages a hole in the frame lower horizontal member. A pin 49 slides within the metal sheet 37 and cooperates with the bar to positively secure the platform fastener 35 to the frame lower horizontal member. Similar standard platforms 25 and platform fasteners 35 are assembled to upper horizontal members of the frames 7 to form a protective canopy 73. Hatches 74 with selectively openable doors may be used for some sections of the canopy 73. The present invention further comprises fairleads 94 for guiding the cables 3 from which the mason's scaffold 1 is suspended from a building or the like.

    • In an adjustable corner post for suspension scaffolding an outer tube (10) is concentric to an elongated member such as a wire rope or rod and has an internal thread in a nut (12) at one end. A tubular adjusting screw (13) having an external thread is concentric to the elongated member and screws into the thread of the outer tube (10) for reacting directly or indirectly with the elongated member so the outer tube rises and lowers when the screw (13) is rotated in opposite directions. A platform supporting structure is supported on the adjustable posts and is leveled by selective rotation of the screws (13). A method of assembling suspension scaffolding using the adjustable posts in described.
