    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for removing safely and efficiently waste crumbs in hot waste water in an apparatus for producing a synthetic rubber not by manpower but by a mechanical means.
      SOLUTION: The apparatus for separating waste crumbs in waste water in the apparatus for producing the synthetic rubber is composed of; a gate for controlling the flow of hot waste water containing the waste crumbs suspended therein from a production process; a drainage pit having a dam that is for damming up the waste crumbs suspended in the waste water flowing into from the gate, and is provided near an inlet from the gate, and has a height that is about a half of the depth; a bucket having a porous bottom part going up and down for scraping up the suspended waste crumbs in the dam; and a means for discharging the scraped-up waste crumbs from the bucket.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analytical method capable of analyzing a platinum-containing compound included in a biosample with supersensitivity.
      SOLUTION: This analytical method of the platinum-containing compound has the following three processes: (1) a first process for applying a pretreatment to a biosample including the platinum-containing compound for serving it to a high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) using a reversed phase column, (2) a second process for separating a secondary analytical sample by serving a primary analytical sample prepared in the first process to the high-performance liquid chromatography using the reversed phase column, and (3) a third process for detecting the platinum-containing compound included in the secondary analytical sample as an element specific platinum element by serving the secondary analytical sample separated in the second process to ICP-MS by using argon gas to which oxygen is mixed at the ratio of 1 to 20%(v/v) as a carrier gas.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing cumene that is capable of efficiently producing cumene in low cost.
      SOLUTION: In this cumene production method, cumyl alcohol and hydrogen are subjected to a catalytic dehydration reaction to form α-methylstyrene and water, then the reaction liquid is catalytically hydrogenated to produce cumene. This process is a part of a propylene oxide production method including the following step. The oxidation step means a process where cumene is oxidized to cumene hydroperoxide. The epoxidation step means a process where a cumene solution containing the cumene hydroperoxide and an excessive amount of propylene are allowed to react with each other in a liquid phase in the presence of a solid catalyst to obtain propylene oxide and cumyl alcohol. The above dehydration step means a process where the cumyl alcohol obtained in the epoxidation step is dehydrated in the presence of a solid catalyst to produce α-methylstyrene. The above hydrogenation step means a process where α-methylstyrene is hydrogenated in the presence of a solid catalyst to cumene, which is recycled to the oxidation step as a feedstock for the oxidation step.
