    • The invention concerns a machine and a method for automatically restoring cinematographic films comprising connections produced by adhesive tapes, by unwinding the film in front of means (28) detecting the connections, stopping the unwinding, holding the film on either side of the detected connection with clips (30), cutting the film in the middle of the connection, eliminating the bits of adhesive tape, cleaning the film and fixing a new connection, then proceeding with the unwinding, eliminating with means (34) the overlapping lateral portions of the new connection and visually controlling the new connections with means (36). The invention enables to automatically restore films comprising connections consisting of adhesive tape.

    • PURPOSE:To improve splicing performance by cutting and joining more than one film in one process by providing a means of moving films in parallel between film operation parts. CONSTITUTION:An operation part A including a film-tip cutting means 5, and an operation part B including a film rear-end cutting means 6 and a joning means 19 are provided in parallel. Then, a means of moving films set at the operation part A to the operation part B in parallel. In this film parallel moving means, as a lock pin 8 and a guide pin 7 move as shown by an arrow (a), films cut atop by the operation part A move onto the operation part B in parallel. The positions of the film reaching onto the operation part B are detected by a detecting means 15.
