    • PURPOSE:To release a difference of thermal expansion caused by a variation of temperature and to increase the life and reliability of a device by a method wherein a low temperature fluid is flowed in opposition to a high temperature fluid in a space between elements of a heat exchanger in which several elements having a high temperature flow path limited by a pair of plates and a spacer are connected. CONSTITUTION:An element 6 is formed with a high temperature flow passage 5 limited by a pair of plates 1 and spacers 2. Each of the adjoining elements 6 pushes to each other a high temperature gas in an opposite direction and by the same force against uniform hot gas by a flowing-in and a flowing-out of hot temperature gas near both vertical ends 9 and 10 so as to endure the force. Therefore, there is no problem in view of a strength against a gas pressure applied inwardly against a clearance between the elements 6 to which a low temperature gas is flowed, i.e., a central part of a low temperature flow passage even if there is no specific supporting part. Except a junction between the hot temperature gas flowing-in part 9 and the flowing-out part 10, it is possible to endure a gas pressure passing within each of the elements 6 even with a displacement stopper 11 fixed to each of the curved portions 4.

    • PURPOSE:To make the detection of a leakage quick and easy by a method wherein a lattice type frame, provided with partitioned compartments capable of surrounding the outer diameters of respective cooling pipes respectively, is incorporated into the frame body of a detecting device and a metallic coil, capable of being red-heated by the conduction of an electric current, is provided in each partitioned compartment while respective coils are connected to external equipments through lead wires to change the flame color reaction of halogen gas, leaked into a cooling tube, into an electric signal. CONSTITUTION:In the titled detecting device 18, a lattice type frame 21, provided with partitioning compartments 20 surrounding the outer diameters of respective cooling pipes, is incorporated into the frame body 19 of the detecting device, abutted against the outside of a tube plate 6 and surrounding the ends of the cooling tubes 4, and metallic coils 22 of copper wires capable of being red-heated by the conduction of an electric current are provided in respective partitioning compartments 20 while respective metallic coils 22 are connected to external equipments through lead wires 23. Flame color reaction, in which the metallic coil 22 red-heated upon conducting electric current is contacted with halogen gas or Freon, for example, leaked from atmosphere into the cooling tube 4, and the color of the flame is changed into blue-green, is changed into an electric signal as a leakage signal while the signal can be read at the outside of the titled device.

    • PURPOSE:To have an effective utilization of an energy of cooling water heat exchanged with a hot gas and decrease a pump driving power by a method wherein a cylinder is divided into two pressure chambers with a sliding piston, a stage in which a cooling water is supplied to one chamber to discharge cooling water in the other chamber outwardly and another stage in which the water is supplied to a water spraying nozzle are alternatively carried out. CONSTITUTION:When a cooling water tank 5A is filled with a low cooling water and a sliding partition plate 10A is located at an upper part of the tank, if a cooling water outlet valve 7A and a discharging water inlet valve 8A are opened, a pressure within the tank 5A becomes a pressure in a heat exchanger 1, a hot discharged water is flowed into the tank by a cooling water discharging pump 3 to push down the partioning plate 10A and the low cooling water in the tank is flowed into the heat exchanger 1 through the valve 7A. The partioning plate 10A reaches the lower end and the valves 7A and 8A are fully closed. Then, when a cooling water inlet valve 6A and a discharging water outlet valve 9A are opened, the low cooling water is flowed into the tank 5A by a cooling water supplying pump 2, the discharged water in the tank is pushed 8 out of the system by the valve 9A, the partioning plate 10A reaches the upper end and the valves 6A and 9A are fully closed. When both systems A and B are used, the supplying and discharging of cooling water for the heat exchanger 1 can be substantially continuously carried out.

    • PURPOSE:To detect leakage quickly and easily with good accuracy by a method wherein the frame body of a detecting device is formed so as to be a lattice frame surrounding the ends of respective cooling tubes respectively and halogen detecting elements are incorporated into respective compartments through supporting tubes while an electric current is generated between the halogen detecting elements and the supporting tubes. CONSTITUTION:The frame body 21a of a detecting device 21 is formed so as to be a lattice frame, in which the partitioned compartments 21b surround the ends of respective cooling tubes when the frame body is applied to the outside of a tube plate and halogen detecting elements 18 are incorporated into respective compartments 21b through supporting tubes 19 while respective compartments 21b are connected to the outside of the titled device through lead wires 22. All of water chambers and the cooling tubes are kept in vacuum simultaneously and, thereafter, a predetermined amount of halogen gas is mixed into the steam side of a condenser in atmosphere. When there is leakage in the cooling tubes, the amount of an electric current conducted between an anode (halogen detecting element 18) and a cathode (supporting tube 19), which are in the compartment 21b at a position corresponding to the position of the leakage, is increased whereby the leakage is converted into an electric signal and is read at the outside of the titled device.
