摘要： A portable device is provided for coupling acoustic energy into a surface whereby the surface radiates audible sound. The device comprises a body (1) containing an acoustic actuator (6) and means (3) for energising the actuator with an audiofrequency signal, the actuator having a foot (7) for coupling the acoustic energy into the surface, and a suction device (9) for temporarily attaching the device to a surface, the suction device comprising a flexible membrane (11) surrounding the foot, and lifting means (12, 13, 15) to exert a lifting force away from the surface on said membrane, thereby reducing the air pressure beneath said membrane to hold the portable device on the surface.

摘要： An applicator for topically applying a semi-solid medicament comprises an applicator head having an applicator face for spreading medicament across the skin; a sealable aperture on the applicator face; and a drive mechanism for forcing medicament out through the aperture. The applicator head includes a cartridge port at the rear of the applicator face for receiving a dispensing end of a cartridge charged with medicament. The drive mechanism comprises a dial knob rotatable around a longitudinal axis of the applicator for advancing a piston along a drive member towards the applicator head to force medicament from the cartridge and thereby dispense a predetermined dose of medicament onto the applicator face.

摘要： A dry powder inhaler (10) for administering a dose of a medicament comprises a reservoir (16) holding the medicament, an air channel assembly (14) engaged with, and movable relatively to, the reservoir for receiving the dose of medicament upon said relative motion, and a counter (26) for counting a number of doses dispensed from the reservoir or that can still be delivered before the inhaler is considered empty. The counter comprises a first indicator member (30) which moves one increment in response to said relative motion, and a second indicator member (34) which moves intermittently in response to motion of the first indicator member (30). A rotatory intermittent drive transfer mechanism (32) is positioned between and engageable with the first and second indicator members. The first indicator member drives the rotatory intermittent drive transfer mechanism (32). The rotatory intermittent drive transfer mechanism (32) drives the second indicator member intermittently upon motion of the first indicator member. The first and second indicator members have indicia (40, 42) thereon for displaying the number of doses dispensed from the reservoir or that can still be delivered before the inhaler (20) is considered empty.

摘要： A Biofeedback Postural Monitor gives a visual representation to the user of their weight distribution acting on weight-sensing plates 1 as an aid to rehabilitation or training. The user, possibly a physiotherapy patient with mobility problems or a sportsman, distributes weight onto independently positionable weight-sensing plates 1 e.g. by standing upon them, and can observe a display 3 which gives an immediate representation of their resolved line-of-centre-of-gravity and resultant forces within each foot. The display 3 can be affixed in 2 positions on the mobile structure 4 to allow the user to either observe the display directly or, using a reflecting element 11, observe the display as an image superimposed upon their body which is then seen as the reflection in a facing auxiliary mirror. Means 8 is provided to store the weight sensing plates when not in use.

摘要： A bag (10, fig.1) is formed from two side panels 16 and 17, attached at the sides and the bottom, but not at the top. A stiffened template 13 is inserted, preferably at a bottom corner, during manufacture. It is secured to the bag. A further stiffened template 14 may also be inserted, e.g. at the top right hand corner. A base 24 may be formed by pushing the sheets 16, 17 in at the bottom, creating a W-shaped cross-section, before stitching up the sides. The bag can be laid flat and then folded about fold lines 27, 28 defined by templates 13, 14. A tie strap 29 holds the folded bag together.
