摘要： An optical modulator having a voltage—optical output characteristic in which optical output varies periodically with respect to a voltage value of an electrical drive signal is driven by a modulator driving voltage signal, which has an amplitude of 2·V&pgr; between two light-emission culminations or two light extinction culminations of the voltage—optical output characteristic. A low-frequency superimposing unit superimposes a prescribed low-frequency signal on the modulator driving voltage signal, and an operating-point controller controls the operating point of the optical modulator by detecting operating-point drift of the optical modulator based upon the low-frequency signal component contained in an optical signal output from the optical modulator and controlling the bias voltage of the optical modulator in dependence upon the drift of the operating point of the optical modulator.

摘要： According to the present invention, for example, a WDM light containing 10 Gbit/s signal lights and 40 Gbit/s signal light arranged on wavelength grids at 25 GHz intervals is branched into two by an input side optical coupler to be sent to two routes. In one route side, only the 10 Gbit/s signal lights are demultiplexed by a 10 Gbit/s demultiplexer and a plurality of 1×2 optical switches, while in the other route side, only the 40 Gbit/s signal lights are demultiplexed by a 40 Gbit/s demultiplexer and a plurality of 1×2 optical switches. Further, the respectively demultiplexed signal lights are multiplexed for each modulating rate by a 10 Gbit/s multiplexer and a 40 Gbit/s multiplexer, and thereafter, further multiplexed by an output side optical coupler to become a WDM light. Thus, it becomes possible to arrange signal lights having different modulating rates at arbitrary wavelengths on wavelength grids at predetermined intervals.

摘要： A polarization fluctuation compensation device, when WDM light received by, for example, an optical reception device includes a polarization scrambled optical signal and a non-polarization scrambled optical signal, collects information related to whether optical signals having respective wavelengths are polarization scrambled, obtains a target value of control parameters which are different from each other, according to the speed of polarization fluctuations in the non-polarization scrambled optical signal based on the collected information, and performs reception processing of the non-polarization scrambled optical signal by using a control parameter set as the target value. As a result, an influence of fast polarization fluctuations generated resulting from an interaction between optical signals having respective wavelengths can be reliably compensated for, thereby enabling to realize excellent reception characteristics.

摘要： This invention prevents ballooning of the amount of comment information while being applied to an operation environment of the user, and provides comment information associated with an intuitively plain operation in a way that is particularly easy for a user. To this end, upon launching of an application, a window including processing buttons and a message area is displayed. Immediately after display, bitmap data of that window is acquired (self-captured), and the acquired bitmap data is displayed in a reference image display area of the window after being scaled down. Arrow lines which specify correspondence between comments in a message area and the buttons in the reference image display area are displayed.
