    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a multivalue regenerative signal and to enable overwriting simple by making a recording film a multilayered structure, irradiating laser light of a fixed intensity at a recording time, recording while changing the intensity of an external applied magnetic field and obtaining a stepwise regenerative signal level. SOLUTION: The film 13 piling up magentooptical recording films is stuck to a surface of an irregular pattern 12 of a substrate 11, and a magnetooptical disk is constituted. In this magnetooptical disk, light is reflected by e.g. a third layer, and a Kerr hysteresis loop is provided. Then, the laser light 31 is converged on the recording film 13 from the side on which the recording film does not exist of the substrate 11, and the recording film 13 is heated. Simultaneously, the magnetic field is applied by a magnetic head 32, to a nearly the some place from the recording film 13 side, and the magnetization of the magnetooptical film 1 is made inverted, and the information is recorded. Then, the external applied magnetic field is increased and by recording on the recording film, the new information is overwritten while erasing the information on the recording film.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a stable reproduced signal by setting the width of a phase pit so that amplitudes of reproducing signals of respective pits become almost equal regardless of the lengths of phase pits in the track direction. CONSTITUTION:A light from an arrgon laser 1 changes a propagating direction by 90 degrees by a total reflection mirror 2 to be divided into two lights whose intensities are almost equal by a translucent mirror 3. A light A reflected from the tranaslucent mirror 3 passes an AO modulator for an intensity modulation 4 and changes the propagating direction at a total reflection mirror 5 to be reflected from a translucent mirror 9. Besides, a light B passing through the translucent mirror 3 is reflected from a total reflection mirror 6 and passes an AO modulator for an intensity modulation 7 and a light deflector 8 driven with a high frequency and passes a translucent mirror 9 to be coalesced with the light A. Thereafter, lights A, B pass on the same optical axis and change a direction at a total reflection mirror 10 and pass a lens 11 to be respectively converged to the spots of about 0-3mum on the surface of a master disk 15 placed in the vicinity of focusses. Electric signals modulated into desired signals are transmitted to AO modulators 4, 7 from a format circuit 19 and the master disk in which prescribed phase pits and guide grooves are recorded is obtained by switching laser beams according to these signals.
