    • A flame retardant aromatic polycarbonate resin composition comprising: (1) 100 parts by weight of resin components comprising 50 to 100 wt % of an aromatic polycarbonate resin (component A-1), 0 to 50 wt % of a styrene-based resin (component A-2) and 0 to 50 wt % of an aromatic polyester resin (component A-3); and (2) 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of a silicone compound (component B) which contains an Si—H group and an aromatic group in the molecule based on 100 parts by weight of the total of the resin components, wherein the silicone compound is at least one selected from silicone compounds which have (1) an Si—H group content (Si—H content) of 0.1 to 1.2 mols/100 g and (2) a content of an aromatic group represented by the following general formula (1) (aromatic group content) of 10 to 70 wt %: wherein X's are each independently an OH group or the residual monovalent organic group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, and n is 0 or an integer of 1 to 5, with the proviso that when n is 2 or more, X's can differ from one another, and molded articles thereof. A halogen-free polycarbonate resin composition having excellent transparency and dripping preventing properties and molded articles thereof are provided according to the present invention.

    • An antifoaming composition contains (A) 58 to 90% by weight of an oil compound and (B) 10 to 42% by weight of a mixture. The oil compound (A) consisting essentially of (i) 80 to 99.9% by weight of an organopolysiloxane composed of R13SiO1/2, R12SiO2/2 and R1SiO3/2 units in a ratio of (0.1 to 5):(90 to 99.8):(0.1 to 5) by mol % and (ii) 0.1 to 20% by weight of finely divided silica. The mixture (B) consisting essentially of (iii) 30 to 90% by weight of a polyoxyalkylene-modified silicone oil having a viscosity of 120,000 to 1,000,000 centipoise at 25° C. and (iv) 1 to 70% by weight of a polyhydric alcohol alkyl ether having a molecular weight of 50 to 300. The composition has improved antifoaming properties, water dispersibility and stability.

    • An ultraviolet-curable silicone composition for a release paper including (A) 100 parts by mass of a specific organopolysiloxane having a polymerization degree of 8 to 20 and containing one epoxy group, and (C) an effective quantity of an onium salt photoinitiator. In a preferred embodiment, the composition further includes (B) 10 to 1,000 parts by mass of at least one specific organopolysiloxane containing a plurality of epoxy groups. In another preferred embodiment, the composition has a viscosity of not more than 100 mPa·s. The composition has a peel strength that exhibits a positive dependency on the peel speed when peeled from a hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive, and can therefore be used to produce a release paper capable of reducing peeling noise. Further, because the composition has a low viscosity, it exhibits excellent wetting of substrates having significant unevenness, even in a solventless form.

    • An additive for imparting flame retardancy with an organic resin is provided. This additive does not use environmentally harmful halogen or phosphorus flame retardant which also adversely affects the performance of the product, and this additive satisfies severe flame retardancy requirements at the level equivalent to those employing such flame retardants. Also provided are a flame retardant polycarbonate resin composition adapted for use in producing a product having excellent mechanical properties, moldability, and outer appearance as well as an article molded therefrom.The additive for imparting flame retardancy with an organic resin comprises a silicone compound having phenyl group bonded to silicon atom, an alkali metal sulfonate salt group or an alkaline earth metal sulfonate salt group bonded to silicon atom via a hydrocarbon group (optionally containing a hetero atom), and siloxane bond.
