In particular, for each of the one or more groups of receiver radiating elements, a first receiver radiating element of the first receiver subarray and the second receiver core chip associated with the second receiver subarray are arranged at least substantially at or along a center of the second receiver subarray and a first receiver radiating element of the second receiver subarray and the first receiver core chip associated with the first receiver subarray are arranged at least substantially at or along a center of the first receiver subarray such that the plurality of first feed lines and the plurality of second feed lines have at least substantially equal length.

    • There is provided a method of spatial modulation using an antenna array including a plurality of radiating elements having a plurality of power amplifiers communicatively coupled thereto, respectively. The method includes: determining an amplitude of an output signal to be formed in space by the antenna array based on an input signal; determining a plurality of output amplitude levels for the plurality of radiating elements, respectively, based on the amplitude of the output signal and a current output amplitude level of the antenna array; generating one or more first signals for a first subarray of the antenna array and one or more second signals for a second subarray of the antenna array based on the input signal; assigning the plurality of output amplitude levels determined to the plurality of power amplifiers of the plurality of radiating elements, respectively; and sending the one or more first signals to radiating elements of the first subarray and sending the one or more second signals to radiating elements of the second subarray for transmission therefrom to form a combined signal in space as the output signal. In particular, the first subarray includes one or more first concentric radiating element pairs and the second subarray includes one or more second concentric radiating element pairs.

    • In accordance with an embodiment of the invention, there is disclosed an antenna for radio frequency identification. The antenna comprises a first radiating element for operating a first mode of radio frequency identification using a first current. The antenna further comprises a second radiating element for operating a second mode of radio frequency identification using a second current. Specifically, at least one of a portion of the first radiating element forms a portion of the second radiating element and a portion of the second radiating element forms a portion of the first radiating element. When the first radiating element is excited by the first current, the first radiating element generates a first field for providing the first mode of radio frequency identification, and when the second radiating element is excited by the second current, the second radiating element generates a second field for providing the second mode of radio frequency identification.

The antenna 100 has a radiating element 102 that comprises a first shaped segment 110 and a second shaped segment 118.
