摘要： Disclosed are embodiments of a system and method for processing an image. An image processing unit includes a processor unit and a control unit. The processor unit receives an incoming video signal. The control unit defines image frames from the video signal. The image frames have bit planes in a plurality of spatial segments for manifestation on a spatial light modulator. The control unit also defines on and off states for a solid state light source. The control unit modulates the solid state light source at a modulated level during at least one bit plane such that illumination of the solid state light source at the modulated level is equally applied during the at least one bit plane for each of the plurality of spatial segments.
