Colour photography, screens for.-.Both sides of a film are coloured, one side in one colour and the other side in another colour, and the colour is erased in small points, fine lines, or figures in such a manner that the parts from which the colour is removed on one side expose the colour on the other side. Where the parts from which the colour has been removed from opposite sides are in juxtaposition, a two-colour screen results. Where there are intermediate spaces left a third colour is formed by the superposition of the colours on both sides. The substance of the film may be tinted or coloured to give additional colour or modify the surface colours. Alternatively to cutting or scraping away the colours, the film, either before or after being coloured, may be made with small raised points or lines or ribs suitably distributed, and the raised parts of the surface subsequently planed or scraped off. The screens are applicable for kinematography.

Shuttles, changing bobbins and the like in, automatically.-The loose weft ends from the cops 22, Figs. 1 and 3, which may be inserted in the chain magazine described in Specification 4800/11, are supported and kept separate from one another by being passed between pins 8 on an endless chain 7 on pulleys on shafts 3, 4, the shaft 4 being rotated step by step by ratchet-mechanism each time transference occurs. The weft ends are held between pulleys 12, 13, the pulley 12 being carried on the shaft 4, so that the weft ends are drawn by the pulleys each time cop-transference occurs and are held taut as they descend, the weft end of the cop to be transferred being guided by the chain 7, so as, to be approximately level with the top of the shuttle. The drums 12, 13 may be replaced by a single drum covered with cloth, the weft threads being passed round it or round a portion of it. To allow a weft end to yield if necessary at the time of transference, the pulley 13 may be carried bv a weighted spring-controlled lever 14. In addition to or instead of this device, a band 21 of loosely woven flannel or other elastic material carried by pulleys 18, 19 may be arranged to deflect the weft ends, this band being moved to the right, if the weft end is subjected to a sudden pull. A sheet-metal guard 17 prevents the weft threads from catching in the pins in the ascending flight of the chain 7, whilst a bent rod 23 guides the weft threads to the drums 12, 13. Instead of the chain 7, a band composed of wire brush or fibrous material may be employed.

摘要： A space saving storage device for mounting in a roof space comprises a support portion 32 which is configured to be secured to a roof support member 14, 16, 18, 20; and a storage portion 36 mechanically linked to the support portion by a linkage 38. The linkage is configured such that the storage portion is movable relative to the support portion between a first position, being substantially within the roof space, and a second position, being substantially within a room space located beneath the roof space. The storage portion may consist of shelving, or may contain a wardrobe or a fold down bed (figure 5). The storage portion is preferably movable in a linear direction vertically down from the roof space through an opening in the ceiling and may be aided by a counterweight mechanism.
