    • A system and method for inserting a watermark in encoded content are described including receiving encoded content, receiving at least one watermark unit comprising information on the position of an original value to be replaced by an alternative value and alternative values and replacing directly a number of bits starting at the position with one of the alternative values, wherein the alternative value has embedded therein watermark signals. An apparatus and method for generating watermark units are also described including selecting a position where a value in encoded content is to be replaced by an alternative value and calculating the alternative value. Further a system and method for replacing a watermark in encoded content are also described including receiving encoded content, receiving at least one watermark unit and replacing a number of bits starting at a position in the encoded content with a value, wherein the value is specified in the at least one watermark unit and further wherein the position is specified in the at least one watermark unit.

    • A deflection apparatus having raster positioning circuitry enables deflection functions including a centering function. According to an exemplary embodiment, the deflection apparatus includes a first rectifier (D201 or D61) for conducting a first current having a first polarity. A first transistor (Q101 or Q453a) is coupled in series with the first rectifier (D201 or D61) for conducting the first current. A second rectifier (D101 or D60) conducts a second current having a second polarity. A second transistor (Q201 or Q454a) is coupled in series with the second rectifier (D101 or D60) for conducting the second current. Control circuitry (400, 500 or R451) controls the conduction of the first transistor (Q101 or Q453a) and the second transistor (Q201 or Q454a) to control a ratio of a magnitude of the first current to a magnitude of the second current.

    • A cathode ray tube (CRT) having a glass envelope is disclosed. The glass envelope is formed of a rectangular faceplate panel having a viewing screen and a tubular neck connected thereto by a funnel. An electron gun is positioned in the neck for directing electron beams toward the faceplate panel. The electron beams emitted from individual cathodes of the electron gun form individual sub-images of a corresponding particular color when scanned on the screen according to a video input signal. A video signal processing system having luminance processing is employed to correct the light output at a plurality of points along the viewing screen by adjusting the drive voltage of the video signal according to a voltage correction factor calculated to achieve desired light output at each point.
