    • A liquefied gas producing facility which produces liquefied gas by liquefying feed gas which contains methane as a main component, the liquefied gas producing facility comprising: a first heat exchanger that causes a first refrigerant to exchange heat with the feed gas and a second refrigerant to cool the feed gas and the second refrigerant; a first refrigerant compressor that compresses the first refrigerant that is gasified through cooling the feed gas and the second refrigerant in the first heat exchanger; a second heat exchanger that causes the second refrigerant to exchange heat with the feed gas that is cooled by the first heat exchanger to further cool and liquefy the feed gas; a second refrigerant compressor that compresses the second refrigerant that is gasified through cooling the feed gas in the second heat exchanger; air-cooling heat exchangers for the first refrigerant that air-cool the first refrigerant that is discharged from the first refrigerant compressor; air-cooling condensers for the first refrigerant that air-cool the first refrigerant that is cooled by the air-cooling heat exchangers for the first refrigerant to liquefy the first refrigerant; air-cooling heat exchangers for the second refrigerant that air-cool the second refrigerant that is discharged from the second refrigerant compressor; air-cooling condensers for the second refrigerant that air-cool the second refrigerant that is cooled by the air-cooling heat exchangers for the second refrigerant to liquefy the second refrigerant; and a mist spraying device that sprays a mist containing demineralized water toward cooling air supplied to at least one of the air-cooling condensers for the first refrigerant.

    • A process for removing carbon dioxide from a fluid comprises the steps of: (a) treating the fluid by bringing it into countercurrent contact with a liquid absorbent in a first absorption zone and thereafter in a second absorption zone to absorb at least part of the carbon dioxide contained in the fluid into the absorbent; (b) depressurizing the loaded absorbent to release a first stream of carbon dioxide and yield a partially regenerated absorbent; (c) recycling a first stream of the partially regenerated absorbent into the first absorption zone; (d) heating a second stream of the partially regenerated absorbent to release a second stream of carbon dioxide and yield a regenerated absorbent; (e) recycling the regenerated absorbent into the second absorption zone; (f) condensing water vapour entrained in the second stream of carbon dioxide by cooling the second stream of carbon dioxide and transferring at least part of the heat recovered to the partially regenerated absorbent by indirect heat exchange. The invention provides a two-stage carbon dioxide recovery process wherein the overall energy required for carbon dioxide recovery is reduced and/or wherein at least part of the carbon dioxide is recovered at a pressure higher than atmospheric pressure so as to reduce the energy required for compression of the carbon dioxide, e. g., for sequestration. Also disclosed is a plant for removing carbon dioxide from a fluid.

    • A process for the recovery of carbon dioxide, comprising: (a) an absorption step of bringing a carbon dioxide-containing gaseous feed stream into gas-liquid contact with an absorbing fluid, whereby at least a portion of the carbon dioxide present in the gaseous stream is absorbed into the absorbing fluid to produce (i) a refined gaseous stream having a reduced carbon dioxide content and (ii) an carbon dioxide-rich absorbing fluid, (b) a regeneration step of treating the carbon dioxide-rich absorbing fluid at a pressure of greater than 3 bar (absolute pressure) so as to liberate carbon dioxide and regenerate a carbon dioxide-lean absorbing fluid which is recycled for use in the absorption step, wherein the absorbing fluid is an aqueous amine solution containing a tertiary aliphatic alkanol amine and an effective amount of a carbon dioxide absorption promoter, the tertiary aliphatic alkanol amine showing little decomposition under specified conditions of temperature and pressure under co-existence with carbon dioxide. The tertiary aliphatic alkanol amine does not contain, in its molecular structure, a nitrogen atom that is substituted by more than one 2-hydroxyethyl moieties, or a nitrogen atom that is substituted by both a 2-hydroxyethyl moiety and a methyl moiety. Preferred tertiary aliphatic alkanol amines are selected from the group consisting of N-ethyl-diethanolamine, 2-(dimethylamino)-ethanol, 2-(diethylamino)-ethanol, 3-(dimethylamino)-1-propanol, 3-(diethylamino)-1-propanol, 1-(dimethylamino)-2-propanol, and 2-(diisopropylamino)-ethanol.
