A sidestream smoke removing device and a control method thereof are provided. A sidestream smoke removing device according to some embodiments of the present disclosure may comprise: a housing having a smoke-generating space formed therein; an article insertion part positioned at one end of the housing and forming an opening through which a smoking article is inserted into a smoke-generating space; an ignition part for igniting the smoking article inserted into the smoke-generating space; a sidestream smoke processing part for processing sidestream smoke generated in the smoking article inserted in the smoke-generating space; and a heating part disposed in the housing to heat the smoke-generating space. The heating part can remove odor generated by a smoking by-product by heating the smoke-generating space, so that the cleanliness of the sidestream smoke removing device can be improved.
