The invention relates to an electrical contact element for an electrical connector, comprising a metal flat contact plug, at least on the insertion-side end face of which a plastic body is disposed, wherein the portion of the plastic body which extends from the insertion-side end face of the flat contact plug has a cross-sectional area having two undulatory edge contours which run symmetrically or asymmetrical to the center axis of the cross-sectional area, the distance between which edge contours varies continuously along the insertion direction and has, over the run, at least one local maximum outside of the end regions. The invention also relates to an electrical connector assembly, comprising: - an electrical connector having an electrical contact element; and - a counter contact element having at least one lamellar spring.
