A vehicle control method, comprising: when a vehicle is in an automatic start-stop mode, if the engine of the vehicle is automatically turned off, detecting whether the brake pedal of the vehicle is released; when the brake pedal of the vehicle is released, and if the vehicle meets an automatic start condition, determining whether the engine of the vehicle is started; when it is determined that the engine is not started, controlling the vehicle to brake. Thus, possible sliding of the vehicle after the brake pedal is released is prevented, and possible safety accidents can be avoided. Also provided are a vehicle control apparatus, a computer program, a processing device, a storage medium, and a vehicle.
