The invention relates to a vehicle axle, in particular a tortion-beam axle, for utility vehicles, comprising at least two axle links which extend substantially in the longitudinal direction and each of which has a hinge point for pivotally hinging on a chassis; a transverse profiled section which extends in the transverse direction and connects the axle links together and which is rigidly connected to each axle link at a respective transverse connection region of the axle links; and a spring device which is mounted on each axle link in a support region of the axle links; wherein a first distance between the hinge point and the mounting region of the axle links is shorter than a second distance between the hinge point and the transverse connection region of the axle links.
