The invention relates to an arrangement (10) for locking an electric steering system, wherein the arrangement has a locking unit (6), which is arranged on the low-torque side of the electric steering system and acts on a torque-transmitting element (3) there, wherein the locking unit (6) has at least one movable locking element (7), which engages in an engagement section (8*) of an engaging element (8), and wherein a torque-limiting coupling element (5) is provided on the rotatable element (3). It is assumed that the electric steering system has a belt drive (1), which comprises a first belt pulley (4), which is arranged on a first torque-transmitting element (3), and which comprises a second belt pulley, which is arranged on a second torque-transmitting element. The torque-limiting coupling element (5) is arranged between one (3) of the torque-transmitting elements and the belt pulley (4) arranged on said torque-transmitting element.
