A hybrid propulsion system having a drive device (110) and a first rotatable component (140) attached to a drive shaft of the drive device (110) and being rotatable by the drive device. The system has a second rotatable component (150) in magnetic association with the first rotatable component (140) and a power take off (120) attached to the second rotatable component (150) for rotation with the second rotatable component. The second rotatable component (150) is rotated by a reactionary torque generated by rotation of the first rotatable component (140) in a field magnet provided by the second rotatable component and hence the power take off (120) is operatively rotated by the reactionary torque generated by rotation of the first rotatable component.
