The invention relates to a methods for controlling an electrohydraulic braking system, which represent types of emergency braking procedures that are applied when various malfunctions occur, for example a malfunction caused by mechanical failure of one of the pressure control valves (17, 18, 37, 38/ 27, 28, 47, 48), of a pressure sensor (30, 31, 40, 41) that determines the wheel brake pressures, of a high-pressure accumulator (21) that acts as an auxiliary pressure source, or of a pump (23) that interacts with the high-pressure accumulator (21), of a separator valve (19, 13) that blocks the connection between the wheel brakes (7 - 10) and an emergency pressure transducer or brake master cylinder (2), in addition to when a loss of hydraulic fluid occurs in one of the wheel brakes (7, 8; 9, 10) assigned to the front or rear axle.
