A releasable closure assembly (10) for security systems, the assembly (10) comprising a base frame (11) which is adapted to be located in an opening, a latch assembly (14) attachable to the base frame (11) and including a coupling portion (37, 38); and a moveable frame (13) having a security grille portion (33) for retaining a security grille (32) and an engagement portion (25) for engaging with the coupling portion (37, 38) of the latch assembly (14), wherein the releasable closure assembly (10) includes a hinge means (12) for coupling the moveable frame (13) to the base frame (11), whereby the coupling portion (37, 38) is able to either engage with the engagement portion (25) to retain the moveable frame (13) in a closed position or disengage with the engagement portion (25) to permit the moveable frame (13) to move to an open position.
