A sensor component comprising a magnetic transmitter (10) and an associated sensor device (11) which are so arranged that they can move in relation to each other. In order to provide the magnetic transmitter (10) with a simple design and reliable protection against mechanical interference, the magnetic transmitter (19) is fitted inside a rigid diamagnetic or paramagnetic shell (6) which is closed in relation to the sensor device (11).
