The invention relates to a modified multi-well plate for biochemical analyses and cell culture experiments, which can be obtained through a method for functionalization. The method comprises the following process steps: a) Treatment of the multi-well plate by means of an ammonia low-pressure plasma, so that reactive amino groups are formed on the plate surface; b) Application of an aqueous or alcoholic solution of a maleic anhydride copolymer; c) Drying the solution of the maleic anhydride copolymer on the surface; d) Heat treatment for the covalent bonding of the maleic anhydride copolymer to the multi-well plate; e) Rinsing with aqueous solution to eliminate unbound and water-soluble maleic anhydride copolymer f) Heat treatment to reestablish the reactivity of the anhydride groups on the maleic anhydride copolymer.
