The present invention provides a method for the preparation of a hydroxyl-substituted aromatic compound, comprising the step of drying a hydroxyl-substituted aromatic compound under an atmosphere containing oxygen in a concentration of less than 20% by volume. Further, the present invention provides a method for packing a hydroxyl-substituted aromatic compound, comprising the step of packing a hydroxyl-substituted aromatic compound under an atmosphere containing oxygen in a concentration of less than 20% by volume.
