A horizontally installed type plate-like body container comprises a container body having a rectangular upper surface, a facing material mounted on the container body, a shock absorbing material mounted on the facing material, a positioning member higher than a predetermined number of plate-like bodies stacked on the shock absorbing material and arranged substantially in parallel with the side face of the plate-like bodies along one or two sides out of four sides forming the end portions of the upper surface of the container body, and a wrapping member for wrapping and securing the container body, the facing material, the shock absorbing material, and the plate-like bodies stacked on the shock absorbing material.
