A pipe fitting which holds a cap nut and the fitting body under a state where a clamping ring is not pushed by the tapered inner surface to shrink the diameter before a pipe is inserted, and prevents the clamping ring from impeding insertion of the pipe when the pipe is inserted, and prevents leakage of fluid without damaging the pipe being inserted. The pipe fitting comprises a fitting body (13) having a male screw portion (19) and a shoulder portion (14) formed continuously at the end, a cap nut (5) having a female screw portion (18) to which the male screw portion is screwed, a C-shaped locking ring (2) arranged such that its outer circumferential surface abuts against a tapered inner surface (6) formed on the fitting body or at the through opening of the cap nut, wherein a removable spacer (1) is arranged while being held between the shoulder portion of the fitting body and the cap nut.
