Disclosed is a column-type vibration control apparatus which is installed between the upper layer beam and the lower layer beam of a rahmen frame structure having columns and the beams rigidly joined therein and which is capable of absorbing and damping a horizontal load using interlayer deformation when the horizontal load is applied. According to a proper embodiment of the present invention, the column-type vibration control apparatus installed between the upper layer beam and the lower layer beam of the rahmen frame structure having the columns and the beams rigidly joined therein comprises a vibration control unit including a first and a second vertical member and a vibration control member joined to be arranged between the first and the second vertical member; a pair of upper fixing members of which one end is joined to the upper layer beam and the other end is joined to the top of the respective exposed surface of the vertical members by pins so that one end of the vibration control unit can be fixed to the upper layer beam by pins; and a pair of lower fixing members of which one end is joined to the lower layer beam and the other end is joined to the bottom of the respective exposed surface of the vertical members so that the other end of the vibration control unit can be fixed to the lower layer beam by pins, wherein the vertical members have lengths shorter than the lengths of the columns, are separated from each other at certain intervals, and arranged in parallel with each other.
