PURPOSE: A tester for an air conditioner and a method thereof is provided to separately perform driving tests for some units and easily perform pre-inspections for a communication state. CONSTITUTION: A tester for an air conditioner is connected to an indoor unit and a remote control is included in the air conditioner and provided to perform driving tests for the indoor unit and a remote control. The tester operates a virtual outdoor unit for the indoor unit and the remote control, and inspects communication states by data transmission with either the indoor unit or the remote control and the operation of the indoor unit by transmitting control commands.
