PURPOSE: A construction method for a retaining wall is provided to simplify construction work by building a straight or inclined retaining wall easily and to reduce the cost required for materials and manpower. CONSTITUTION: The construction method for a retaining wall comprises the steps of piling up reinforced earth(7) to a wall(6), installing retentive plates(8) to the inner end, installing grids(10) horizontally to the inner end to be fixed to the outermost retaining wall, installing a drainage layer(13) composed of gravels to the outside of the reinforced earth, piling up stone composed of native rock or concrete blocks to the outside of the drainage layer(13), perforating longitudinal inclined joint grooves(1a,2a) horizontally to be inclined on the top of stones(1,2) by cutting out upper and lower stones(1,2) in the hexahedral shape, perforating longitudinal horizontal joint grooves(1b,2b) horizontally on the base of the upper and lower stones, interposing a fixture(3) to an upper inclined joint groove(2a) of the lower stone(1), and interposing an upper bar of the fixture(3) to a lower horizontal joint groove(1b) of the upper stone(1) to couple upper and lower stones(1,2) to the inclined joint groove(2a) to be straight or inclined.
