摘要：
PURPOSE: A method for reducing the amount of a reducing sugar in a light steepwater and a light steepwater prepared from the method are provided, to obtain the light steepwater of pharmaceutical grade from the light steepwater drawn the already-known corn dipping process. The light steepwater contains a reducing sugar in an amount less than about 6 wt%. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of incubating a light steepwater drawn from the corn dipping process having about 20-220 ppm of SO2, for at least 5 hours. Preferably the incubation is carried out at a temperature of about 33-48 deg.C. Preferably the content of SiO2 contained in the light steepwater is controlled by introducing a fresh acidic water containing about 1,200-2,500 ppm of SO2 and/or adding hydrogen peroxide to the light steepwater.
