Oral care implement or toothbrush 100 includes a head 104, and tooth cleaning element region 116 and the tissue cleaning element region 114. The tooth cleaning element region 114 includes a plurality of flexible angled projections 120. The protrusion 120 is formed to be bent to a substantially flat position from the tilted position at the time when the standby tissue cleaning element region 114 in contact with the tongue and been pushed into the mouth. Further, the projection 120 is in contact with the tissue cleaning element region 114 and the tongue are formed to be pulled out out of the mouth bent into an almost upright position. This arrangement prevents debris from being pushed into the mouth, it is effective in removing debris from the mouth and tongue. The flexible projections 120 are generally used in conjunction with the rigid protrusion (122) having a vertical shape, it is effective to engage the ball to remove the debris from the mouth during brushing, and increases the saliva produced.
