The ultrasonic sound velocity estimation apparatus and method is disclosed. The ultrasonic sound velocity estimator according to an embodiment of the invention, by using a transmission module, a reception module for receiving an ultrasonic signal reflected from the target object, the ultrasound signals received for transmitting ultrasound signals to a target object has a different sound velocity, respectively using a plurality of ultrasound image generation module, and the plurality of the generated ultrasound image to generate a sound velocity comprises a determination module for determining an optimal sound velocity for scanning the target object.
