PURPOSE:To impart a three-dimensional feel to rugged patterns by removing the colored sealer layer coated on the projecting parts of the rugged pattern surface on the front of a base plate by sanding so that the projecting parts and recesses of the rugged pattern surface are formed to different color tones. CONSTITUTION:The colored sealer layers 6, 7 are coated on the rugged pattern surface 3 on the front of the base plate 2 to form an embossing painted original sheet 1. The colored sealer layer 6 coated on the projecting parts 4 of the rugged pattern surface is removed by sanding so that the projecting parts 4 and recesses of the rugged pattern surface 3 are formed to the different color tones. More specifically, the colored sealer layer 6 overlaps on the coated surface of the colored sealer layer 7 while the layer thickness thereof is gradually decreased at the peripheral edge of the projecting parts from which the colored sealer layer 6 is removed. The boundaries between the projecting parts and the recesses are thereby brought into the state of being colored by the continuously changing color tones. The remarkable three-dimensional feel is thus imparted to the rugged pattern without giving a flat feeling thereto.
