PURPOSE: To improve work efficiency and sealing property by electrodepositing synthetic resin powder for bonding agent to necessary part of can material and forming a layer of bonding agent by heating and depositing the powder.
CONSTITUTION: Synthetic resin powder 8 for bonding agent is electrodeposited utilizing static electricity on left, right, upper and lower side edges 2, 3, 6, 7 of material 1 for can making. Next, the powder 8 is heated and deposited to adhere closely and a layer 9 of bonding agent is formed. The layer 9 of bonding agent is formed on both sides 10, 11 of left, right, upper and lower joining edges 2, 3, 6, 7 and end face 12. It is desirable to cut four corners of the can material 1 to form the layer of bonding agent on each end face 13. If desired, the layer of bonding agent is formed on specified joining edges of cover material and bottom material, not illustrated, by electrodeposition. By this way, forming of layers of bonding agent can be made easily and surely.
