PURPOSE:Transfer performance is enhanced and damaging of a photosensitive material is prevented by suitably selecting the material and thickness of the transfer member of a transfer roller and changing conductivity along with the pressure being exerted so that excess current does not flow in the photoconductive layer of the photosensitive material while not in transfer.
