PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling direction estimation device for a vehicle for estimating a current traveling direction of a vehicle by calculating the speed vector of a vehicle and a driving support system using this. SOLUTION: An arithmetic part 110 samples acceleration to be detected by a vertical acceleration sensor 20 and a lateral acceleration sensor 30 in a predetermined cycle to acquire vertical acceleration Ax(n) and lateral acceleration Ay(n). Also, the arithmetic part 110 calculates a speed vector Vpre based on a speed vector V(n-1) stored in a storage part 120 and a sensor output value β of a yaw rate sensor 40, and respectively adds the product of the vertical acceleration Ax(n) and a predetermined time Δ and the product of the lateral acceleration Ay(n) and a predetermined time Δt to respective components Vx_pre and Vy_pre of the speed vector Vpre to calculate a speed vector V(n).
