To provide a drive device in which occurrence of an avalanche can be suppressed during reverse recovery.SOLUTION: A correlation value acquisition unit 71 of a drive device 13 acquires a correlation value of a reverse recovery-time current of a diode and a correlation value of a reverse recovery-time voltage between both ends of the diode. A power calculation unit 72 calculates a reverse recovery-time power of the diode by using the acquired current correlation value and the acquired voltage correlation value. A speed setting unit 73 sets, in accordance with the calculated power, at least a turn-on time switching speed of target switching elements including a switching element of a counter arm to the diode during a reverse recovery time.
