To provide a charging method by which excessive current is inhibited from flowing through a charging cable even when a pilot signal malfunctions.SOLUTION: A charging method for charging an on-vehicle power storage device 10 by using power supplied via a charging cable 330 from a power supply facility 300 that is external to a vehicle, includes setting an upper limit of charging current to be supplied to the power storage device, calculating a first upper limit current from a signal communicated via the charging cable, setting a second upper limit current from a detection value obtained by a voltage sensor 324 that measures voltage applied from the charging cable, and setting an upper limit of the charging current on the basis of a smaller one of the first upper limit current and the second upper limit current.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
