To provide an apparatus which can switch between cooling and heating of a recording medium for reducing corrugation, which is cockling, of the recording medium.SOLUTION: An image formation apparatus comprises: a heating and cooling unit MD which has a cooling part WA for cooling a recording medium P and a heating part HT for heating the recording medium; and a switching unit which switches between the cooling by the cooling part and the heating by the heating part. Especially, the above-mentioned problem is solved by switching between the heating and the cooling on the basis of the type of the recording medium P, the liquid amount of recording liquid used for performing image formation on the recording medium P, the thickness of the recording medium P or the combination of them.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
