PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club head capable of utilizing the geometry of a striking face of the golf club head itself to increase the size of a sweet spot of the golf club head.SOLUTION: A striking face 102 may have a frontal surface area which is greater than about 3500 mm2. A posterior body portion 104 may further comprise: a crown portion 106 coupled to an upper portion of the striking face 102; and a sole portion coupled to a lower portion of the striking face 102. A beveled transition portion is at least partially surrounding the perimeter of the striking face 102, connecting the striking face 102 with the posterior body. The striking face 102 may have a sweet spot, defined as the area of the frontal surface having at least 99.7% of the maximum ball speed achievable by a golf club head 100, which encompasses a portion greater than about 1.5% of the frontal surface area of the striking face 102.
