PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new semiconductor device and a method of drive thereof.SOLUTION: A (volatile) node for holding data that is rewritten when necessary by arithmetic processing and a node for saving the data are electrically connected via a source and a drain of a transistor with a channel formed in an oxide semiconductor layer. Data and data that is an inversion of the data (inverted data) are saved before the supply of a supply voltage is stopped, and the two are compared after the supply of the supply voltage is restarted to restore the data obtained by arithmetic processing just before the supply of the supply voltage is stopped.
