The present invention relates to lubricating compositions containing oil-soluble compound having (a) an oil of lubricating viscosity, and (b)> N-R-N <group, wherein R can be a hydrocarbylene group. The present invention further provides the use of the lubricating composition for lubricating a limited slip differential. In one embodiment, the present invention is, (i) lubricating thermostable, (ii) lubricant oxidative stability, (iii) the coefficient of friction, (iv) fuel economy, (v) deposit control, (vi) seal compatibility, and (vii) chattering (abnormal noise) of for providing an acceptable level of at least one, provides the use of a lubricating composition as disclosed herein in the differential limiting device. In one embodiment, this use provides a friction coefficient of the acceptable level.
