PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a finger catch prevention device for tentatively stopping movement of a double sliding sash, a single sliding sash, a double sliding door, a single sliding door, or a double hung window or the like (described as a sash, hereinafter) in the state of opening a prescribed gap so as not to get a finger, a hand or a head or the like caught between the sash and a frame body when closing or opening the sash.SOLUTION: A sash 2 is provided with a kicker 5. On the side of a frame body 1, a stopper 6, a trigger 7, and a positioning 13 are provided. In opening the sash 2, the stopper 6 is moved back to a withdrawn position to allow passing of the kicker 5, and when the kicker 5 passes through a position facing the stopper 6, the kicker 5 is abutted to the trigger 7 and the stopper 6 is projected to a projected position. In closing the sash 2, when the kicker 5 is abutted to the stopper 6, the movement of the sash is stopped, and a finger catch prevention gap is formed between the sash and the frame body. When closing force of the sash disappears, the stopper 6 is moved back from the projected position to the withdrawn position, and the sash 2 is completely closed.
