PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vane pump, where the distributions of fluid pressures each occurring on a side having a vane ring of a rotor and on the opposite side thereof are equal.SOLUTION: The vane pump 1 used for a fluid pressure supply source includes: the vane ring 61 that faces a base end of a vane 3; a vane ring housing chamber 60 to which one end 5a of a slit 5 is open and that houses the vane ring 61; and a pressure chamber 20 which is on the side opposite the vane ring to which the another end 5b of the slit 5 is open and that applies fluid pressure in a direction where the rotor 2 is pressed to the vane ring 61 side.
