PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and economically constitute a double seal, and effectively save manufacturing costs.SOLUTION: A cell unit 12 constituting a fuel cell 10 comprises a first electrolyte membrane/electrode structure 14, a first metal separator 16, a second electrolyte membrane/electrode structure 18, and a second metal separator 20. The first and second electrolyte membrane/electrode structures 14, 18 have resin frame members 28a, 28b on their outer peripheries. A double seal 51 provided to the resin frame member 28a has an outer seal member 48 and an inner seal member 50. The tip of the outer seal member 48 contacts the resin frame member 28b, while the tip of the inner seal member 50 contacts an outer peripheral edge of the first metal separator 16. The outer seal member 48 and the inner seal member 50 are set to an identical height dimension.
