PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling method for an aluminum sheet or an aluminum alloy sheet by which deterioration in rollability in hot rolling is prevented, and a rolled sheet having excellent sheet surface quality can be obtained, and to provide a rolling apparatus used for the rolling method.
SOLUTION: The rolling method for an aluminum sheet or an aluminum alloy sheet uses hot rolling oil satisfying q≤900/p+700, wherein q (ppm) denotes ash content in the hot rolling oil and p (μm) denotes the average oil particle diameter in hot rolling. Further, the rolling apparatus used for the above rolling method includes: a hot rolling oil storage tank storing hot rolling oil; a scum removing means removing scum floating at the upper part of the hot rolling oil; and a filter filtering the hot rolling oil after the removal of the scum and regulating the ash content in the hot rolling oil to a prescribed amount.
