The present invention provides a composition comprising an extract obtainable or obtained from (a) antimicrobial material, and (b) Labiatae plants, (a) and (b) are different, the composition thereof comprising a high amount of phenolic diterpenes than 1.0% by weight relative to the composition, if the antimicrobial material consists of nisin, the amount of carvacrol of less than 0.075% by weight relative to the composition the composition, and it provides a composition comprising an amount of carboxylic less than 15% by weight relative to the composition.
