PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating magnitude of meniscus force of lubricating layer which is exerted on a head slider running on a magnetic disk.
SOLUTION: The method for evaluating magnetic disk measures difference of circumferential speed of pitch angle rise in a floating state of the slider derived from transition of the head slider floating attitude when the head slider takes off and circumferential speed when the head slider actually leaves a disk regarding a plurality of disks having different lubricating layers respectively, and compares the differences of the circumferential speeds to evaluate magnitude of meniscus forces generated between the lubricating layers applied on the surfaces of the disks and the running head sliders.
