PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly detect the stagnation of a rubber in a screw rubber extruder. SOLUTION: When it is detected that the rubber 31 is passed through a hopper 14 from the output of the rubber supply sensor (light detecting element 24) provided to the hopper 14, a timer 4 is started and the counting of a number-of-rotation counter 5 for counting the number of rotations of a screw 12 is started. If the count value of the number-of-rotation counter 5 does not reach a prescribed number of rotations when the timer 4 performs counting for a predetermined time, it is judged that the rubber is stagnated in a cylinder 11.
