    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately judge whether there is firing risk of a rubber in a rubber extruder. SOLUTION: The rubber, which is supplied to the hopper 14 of the rubber extruder 1 from a Banbury mixer 5, is supplied into a cylinder 11 and fed forward by a screw 12 to be extruded from an extrusion head 13. The extruded rubber is molded into a rubber sheet 33 having a predetermined thickness and width by the calender roller pair of a roller die device. The temperature of the rubber in the hopper 14 is detected by a non-contact temperature sensor 21. The height (upper end position) of the rubber is detected by level sensors 22-24. When the height of the rubber is not lowered and the temperature of the rubber is a predetermined dangerous level or above, a valve 7 is opened to supply water into the hopper 14 from piping 6, and the rubber in the hopper 14 is cooled.
